Frequently asked questions
Do I own my website?
Yes. Once your website is built and paid for, the code and all content are yours: the PHP source files, CSS, images, and any other assets. These are custom-built files, not a WordPress or template install. If there's a database involved, you get a full SQL export. If you ever want to move to a different host, everything you need to run the site elsewhere is handed over.
Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?
DIY builders are fine if you just need something online fast and don't mind a template. The tradeoffs: you're renting their platform (not owning anything), your design flexibility is limited, and builder-generated code loads slower than hand-written code. What if my budget is lower than your starting price?
Get in touch anyway. A single-page site starting at $1,200 is already lean: a contact form, your services, and your brand. If your budget is tighter than that, it's worth a conversation. I don't do spec work (no designing pages or building mockups before a project is scoped and agreed on), but I can usually find a scope that works for a realistic budget.
How do I know I won't get nickel-and-dimed?
Every project gets a written scope and fixed price before work starts. Hosting plans are flat monthly rates with no surprise charges. If something comes up that changes the scope, you'll hear about it before any extra work begins, and you decide whether to proceed. Nothing gets added to your bill without your explicit approval.
Do I have to pay everything upfront?
No. Projects are split 50/50: 50% deposit before work starts, 50% due at launch. Nothing gets built until the deposit is confirmed, and nothing goes live until the final payment clears.
