From first call to launch

A clear, five-phase process from the first conversation to a live site you own outright. No surprises, no agency runaround, just direct communication and a site built exactly to scope. See pricing →

1 Week 1

Discovery

I talk through your goals, your customers, and what you need the site to accomplish. I ask the right questions: pages needed, features required, content you have ready, any specific design preferences, so I'm building what your business needs, not guessing.

  • Project brief and confirmed scope
  • Feature list with priorities
  • Formal quote and timeline
  • Your time: ~1 hour for a call or questionnaire
2 Week 1–2

Design

Before any code gets written, I design the full site in wireframes and then high-fidelity mockups. You see exactly what you're getting and approve it before I build. Revisions are included until you're satisfied, and I won't start development without your sign-off.

  • Wireframes for all pages
  • High-fidelity visual mockups
  • Brand colors and typography applied
  • Unlimited revisions until approved
  • Client approval checkpoint before build begins
3 Week 2–4

Development

The site gets built from scratch in clean HTML, CSS, and PHP. No templates, no page builders, no plugin stacks. Every line is written by hand for your project specifically. You get access to a staging link so you can follow along as it comes together.

  • Fully responsive build (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • All pages and features from scope
  • Contact form with spam protection
  • Third-party integration setup (if applicable)
  • Staging link access throughout
4 Week 3–5

Review

You get a staging link and I work through any changes with you. Text edits, image swaps, layout adjustments; everything in the original scope gets handled here. New pages or features outside the agreed scope get a quick conversation about timeline and cost before anything changes.

  • Revision rounds on the live staging build
  • Bug fixes and cross-browser checks
  • Content polish and final copy pass
  • Final client sign-off
5 Week 4–6

Launch

Once you approve the staging build, I configure your domain, set up security and encryption, and push the site live. Everything gets rechecked in production before I hand off. The site is yours, running under your name on your domain.

  • Domain and DNS configuration
  • SSL certificate setup
  • Production deployment and final QA
  • Full site handoff (files, credentials, any CMS access)
  • 30-day post-launch support window

Timelines above assume content is ready on kickoff. Projects where copy or images need to be sourced or written typically run 1–2 weeks longer.

After your site goes live

The 30-day post-launch window covers bugs and anything that slips through. After that, managed hosting keeps your site running reliably long term, or take the files and host them anywhere you like.

You own everything

The code, the design files, the domain: all yours. No license fees, no platform lock-in. You can move hosts or hand off to another developer any time.

Managed hosting

Core ($30/mo), Care ($50/mo), or Priority ($75/mo): uptime monitoring, nightly backups, SSL, and DNS handled by the same person who built the site. Full plan details →

Ongoing support

New pages, feature additions, or one-off fixes are available at $100/hour with no minimum commitment. Just reach out and I'll scope it.

Frequently asked questions

How many revisions are included?

Unlimited revisions during the Design phase; I go back and forth on wireframes and mockups until you're fully satisfied and sign off. Once you approve the designs and development begins, the scope is locked. Minor tweaks (copy edits, image swaps, small layout adjustments) get handled without fuss. Adding new pages or features requires a brief conversation about timeline and cost.

What do I need to have ready before we start?

Not much. Your business name, logo (or a rough idea for one), and a sense of what the site needs to accomplish. Copy and images are helpful but not required on day one; I'll flag exactly what's needed and when during Discovery. If you don't have professional photos, stock imagery works fine for most small-business sites.
